Sick of tournies

Kinda sick of tournys, its no fun when I grind so much only to loose a big coin flip deep, this happened like 6 times yesterday and I didnt win once. Dont think I am gonna lpay tournys till Saturday, instead I am looking to play sngs and step tournies. I have done reltively well in sngs and won a seat to step 6 yesterday. Sngs are fun since I can experiment a bit too.
College work, cleaning my apt and accounts are still in progress...

10k cash on Sunday

Came 5th in 100r for a 10k cash (cud hv been better etc etc). I am satisfied with my sunday performance, didnt make too many mistakes but def cud hv played better.

My good frnd cdbr and I had last longers in all common tournies, which I am glad to say I won 6-2 (ship 800$$$$$), he thinks he is huge +ev against me in LL but I hv won it two weeks in a row against him and hopfeully he doesnt quit me (+ev my ass).

Sunday Pokahhh

The same line up as he one I posted few weeks back. I hvnt played last couple of days which has me all pumped for the many hours of poekr ahead.
Weekend was fun, I was in NY meeting up with Maridu and Daut, was good times, I cant believe tht I hv been to NY twice in 4 yrs despite living in philly.....man I am lazy :(

break from poker...

Sorry for the lack of updates, I hv just been very lazy ever since I got back to US. I went to visit cdbr and Carter this weekend in South Carolina and was awesome fun. I liked it a lot there and might go back in few weeks for a longer period, we played most sunday tournies (I cudnt play all of them, since I was playing on my laptop) and we had 200$ LL on all common tournies, which I was able to win 3-2, ship 200$ (so sweet winnign $$ from cdbr). I also won 600$ in beer pong betting against Carter, when my team won on tripple overtime (we kept increasing the bet every overtime), obv sickest beer pong game ever!
I had a decent sunday, I came 8th in 100r and 13th in 200r and 32nd in ngihtly 100r, so I made a small profit for the day, but could have been huge.
This week I am not playing, I have ton loads of work to do (things pile up, when u do nothing but sit around for 2 weeks). I have to get my apt cleaned (its a mess), do poker accts (I hv no idea how I hv done last 1 mnth, so got to finish accts), have to goto classes and catch up (veyr light college workload but still need to catch up), spent time with frnds and this weekend I hv to visit family in New Jersey. But def will play Sunday and will also post my stats for the past mnth when I am done with my poker accts.

Finally broke my cold streak by chopping the nightly 100r on Tuesday. I usually dont chop, but 3 handed we were all friends so this was an easy chop. I got 27.9k for my efforts, which right now seems like a huge score and I am definitely happy :)
I am heading back to Philadelphia in few hrs where the plan for next 3 mnths is to finish up college (one time!!, please let me not fail any of my classes =p) and break into top 15 of the p5 rankings. In my peak I was at 17th but I hv fallen a lot and am ranked 35th as of now, but I am excited to be back in philly, since I hv beent ravelling alst 3 mnths(vegas, india, manila, europe) I hv realised I play best when in philly, I hv just gotten very used to the enviroment there and am def looking foward to go back to me winning 2-3 tournies a week.
Next poker day will be Saturday, will post tourny schedule for the weekend once I reach Philly.

Dissapointing Sunday

I played really well, probably the best I hv played on a Sunday in a long time. Just cudnt final table anything, I did take 20th in 100r and 21st in 200r. I played all the tournies except for the mulligan (mini tilt after busting the 100r, so decided to cut down a bit on new tourneis), its just suprising how bad people play on Sundays, I am def looking for a big Sunday score sometime in the near future. I am really happy with the way I am playing right now, good rhythm and playing consistent. I feel like my old self again and I just love the 100r after hating it for a long time, so thts good. The one thing I need to work is on my stamina, I get tired after 8-9 hrs of playing and thts usually when I quit, but I hv noticed tht mny of the top pros hv no problem playing 14-16hrs, I need to be able to do tht, esp sicne the wcoop ME is going to be around 22hrs long!
Playing the 1k and 100r today, I like 2 tabling and watching a movie on the side than 9 tabling =p

I am def playing the first 7 tournaments but I am not sure on the remaining two, it depends on how tired I am and depends on what happens in the other tournies.

I completely blew the 100r last night, I mean blew it so bad tht it had me shaking like on Sunday when I blew the million. I am very very determined now to play my best and keep my composure, I am a good closer and need to make the most of my opportunites when I go deep. Its been forever since I won something, but I hvnt lost faith in myself, just matter of time, like I always tell my frnds-one good day changes everything.

Hopefully tomorrow my bad run ends and I can hopefully be collecting some $$$ (thts euros in the pic though)

played bad nothing else...bad day, def my game has improved but still need to work on my temperament, it was bad. Horrible play in the end. Jeez so dissapointing 130th in mill.

Back from Europe, the trip was a memorable one. Definitely gonna goto Amsterdamn sometime soon again.

ah well

Its dissapointing, but why should I be sad? Life is good and it can only get better.
I was shortstacked for the earl part, but the play was ver loose and I felt I cud pick up some good spots, players were jsut terrible and I felt an easy dbl if I picked up a hand. I believe the commentators on the ept broadcast felt tht I ws too tight and was waiting too long (thts why they are in the commentary booth and not on the table), I finally got some good spots and each time I dbled and before I knew it I was top 5 with 340k. They were some interesting hands, but I am not a big fan of discussing hands and my thought process, but I did hv an idea on who was playing how and played accordingly. I am not at all unhappy with the way I got out, I went with my gut and everthing I do is pre decided, so when I had TT I had already decided wat wud happen if I got re raised by the people behind me (it was a money bubble 8k euros, I ended up running my TT into QQ, but no regrets, if Sorel says I played it right, I really dont care who else says anything. 15th isnt bad, but I was 14 away from life changing money....it will happen I know, this was a gr8 experience, guess I wont be nervous playing online anymore since the money aint as big as this one (boy was I shaking....but it didnt affect my play one bit)

in Manila and I hate online!

So the Manila Main event starts in like 5 hrs, the casino and the poker room is absolutely amazing and must give kudos to pokerstars for organising such a fabulous event. The whole ambiance and environment is just amazing and I can hardly wait to go and play today. The field is 95% Asian with players from china, japan and Korea, along with some locals....I am surprised to see how big poker is in Asia, I means its just shocking to see the action and the enthusiasm here, wud never expect this besides in US and Europe, just matter of time before poker really explodes here. As far as the quality of play is concerned, from what I have played with them in the side action they seem aggro but very inexperienced and am really banking on them having little knowledge of tournament strategy to exploit them in later stages.
I played some side action yesterday, the biggest game they had was 100-200 so I decided to play it, the games was juicy and soft but somehow I was stuck 22k, however I was able to break even and make a profit of 15k (although I wasn't happy being stuck 20k)....I played for like 5 hrs and it was fun, oh btw it was pesos and not dollars :)
Most of the PokerStar sponsored players are here including Negreaunu, Hachem, Vanessa Russo and few more, there are some good European and Australian players as well, so really the field is not exactly very soft, but its still relatively much softer than most online tourneys. I hate online, I cant even explain how bad I hv been running...although I hv been playing pretty well so I am happy, but alksjdlaskjdaslkdjasd its badd.
I am really looking forward to Barcelona and my vacation in Amsterdam after I am done here, although not playing last 2 days online hv already recharged my batteries.

Navigating big fields and Euro trip

It been frustrating but I am still positive about getting a big score. We are at such a situation in the plb bet that unless we get a big score its a lost cause. I have had quite a few opportunities as you can see above and even closing on one of them would have been huge, but tournament poker is all about patience. Eventually, I'll get my dues and am not gonna get disheartened yet....

I hv my trip almost planned out, I will be travelling to Manila on the 22nd. The idea is to go and travel around a bit before the tournament starts on the 24th. Hopefully I will be in it for all the 3 days 24, 25 and 26th, if not, I plan to relax and not play poker outside of the tournament. The event shud be huge and seems it might even be sold out, I am really hungry for some live success and really think this could be the one.
On the 27th I am flying to Barcelona for the EPT. I will playing on Day 2b so that the 29th. I hv hotel confirmations in Barcelona from 27th till 2nd Sept I believe. After Barcelona I hv decided to stay an additional week in Europe and just relax, that's right no poker, just sight see, sleep and have fun! Some of my friends are coming down for the event and we are planning to rent a car and drive around Europe....not exactly sure at this point where all we will be going but we are def 100% going to Amsterdam fro a few days. I am really excited about this trip, sicne I really need a vacation and I hv never ever travelled to Europe. I am really pumped about this trip!

As far as the plb challenge goes I hv 3rd in 30r, 8th in UB 120 (kk vs AA) and 5 in 200 Turbo on tilt, this is since my last post....nothing worthy at all and the volume I am playing is just beyond insane, no sleep no rest no social life...F poker. SIgh!! still will grind it out all this mnth....Winning wud be nice, need my confidence back :(
The only win I had was a seat to ept barcelona (more on tht later) 12k package though....thts somethign to smile about :)

day 1 and 2

THis is sick....people are going nutzo playing evrything. I myself for the 1at time 9 tabled for approzimately 8 hrs....played well on day 1, played like shit on day 2.
Our team has one score so far, I won a 200 turbo at fulltilt and will recieve around 170-190 pts (not sure exactly how much). Our goal is t get 12 similar scores by AUg 10th...veyr very difficult especially since I played a gazillion tournies on day 2 and didnt cash in 1...yep thts right not one cash.
Tomorrow new day and then weekend coming, I know Sorel will kill it.....I just need some more solid results to keep the team at the top. They are developing a website I believe for everyone to follow this competition witht he latest reults.....tht shud be veyr helpful towards the last part, but will be also be ncie to know where u stand.
Time for bed...

August PLB challenge..

Its gonna be a sick mnth in August, Sorel and I hv joined a plb challenge (2k$ a team) with 17 teams taking part in it. The pool consists of some of the best players on the internet and its going to be a real real long mnth, basically by joining this I hv decided tht I wont be hiving a life outside of poker for the next mnth, unless ofcourse I get some real good scores early. With me missing a few days for Manila Appt its even more important I get some good scores early on since it is a team event and a lot will depend on my results, since I am sure Sorel will be running things over as always. I am getting a new set up for this challenge, which includes a 30' lcd monitor, new desk and chair (since I am in India, I dont hv the same set up as in Philly). I would like to come and post results here everyday since I am estimating a total of 20-25 tournies a day (micro donkaments inlcuded...sigh!), but I hv known to be lazy about posting, however I will be trying to do it.
